"The Lord's Prayer" -- by James Tissot

FIRST READING: Galatians 2: 1 - 2, 7 - 14

1 Then after fourteen years I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, taking Titus along with me.
2 I went up by revelation; and I laid before them (but privately before those who were of repute) the gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, lest somehow I should be running or had run in vain.
7 but on the contrary, when they saw that I had been entrusted with the gospel to the uncircumcised, just as Peter had been entrusted with the gospel to the circumcised
8 (for he who worked through Peter for the mission to the circumcised worked through me also for the Gentiles),
9 and when they perceived the grace that was given to me, James and Cephas and John, who were reputed to be pillars, gave to me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship, that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised;
10 only they would have us remember the poor, which very thing I was eager to do.
11 But when Cephas came to Antioch I opposed him to his face, because he stood condemned.
12 For before certain men came from James, he ate with the Gentiles; but when they came he drew back and separated himself, fearing the circumcision party.
13 And with him the rest of the Jews acted insincerely, so that even Barnabas was carried away by their insincerity.
14 But when I saw that they were not straightforward about the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas before them all, "If you, though a Jew, live like a Gentile and not like a Jew, how can you compel the Gentiles to live like Jews?"

PSALM: Psalms 117: 1 - 2

1 Praise the LORD, all nations! Extol him, all peoples!
2 For great is his steadfast love toward us; and the faithfulness of the LORD endures for ever. Praise the LORD!

GOSPEL: Luke 11: 1 - 4

1 He was praying in a certain place, and when he ceased, one of his disciples said to him, "Lord, teach us to pray, as John taught his disciples."
2 And he said to them, "When you pray, say: "Father, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come.
3 Give us each day our daily bread;
4 and forgive us our sins, for we ourselves forgive every one who is indebted to us; and lead us not into temptation."

  1. Hi Steve,

    My name is Daniel Tay, writing from Singapore. I've been looking for an online service that publishes the daily Mass readings, for use in my website www.thecatholicwriter.com/oxygen.

    A bit of background about OXYGEN. It's a daily scriptural reflection ministry that was started back in 2001. We used to send it via email. As technology advanced, we kept pace and our distribution network now includes website, Facebook and Twitter.

    For 10 years now, we've been typing out the daily Mass readings from the respective missals. I've been looking for ways to automate this, such as publishing a feed from another website that has this service.

    I'm wondering if a collaboration between our sites might be possible.

    Please come by our site and have a look and email me if you're interested.

    Thanks and God bless,
    Daniel

  2. Daniel, your site utilizing my blogs RSS feed to reproduce the Mass Readings presents no problem at all. It is currently being utilized by one diocese here in the U.S.A. now. Just a mention of link back to my blogs is all that I ask.
