However it was conveyed in 2 versions, a short Hebrew version and a longer Greek version. The Greek version contains 107 additional verses inserted at appropriate places in the Hebrew version of the text. Some scholars believe some of the insertions have Hebrew origin while other insertions are Greek in composition. Some think it possible the Hebrew text original throughout and the later Greek text was a paraphrase of the Hebrew. Scholars think the Greek text pre-Christian in origin, and the Church has accepted them as equally inspired with the rest of Esther. The sections of the book preceded by the letters A-F indicate the Greek additions. Regular chapter numbers refer to the original Hebrew text.Steve Smithhttp://faithofthefathers.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22356724.post-19061488928821630132010-02-25T02:21:02.187-05:002010-02-25T02:21:02.187-05:00This site helped me to locate today's reading ...This site helped me to locate today's reading in my Bible, for I don't understand what is meant by Esther C in my New Jerusalem Bible.
