READING: Exodus
3: 1 - 8, 13 - 15
1
Now Moses fed the sheep of Jethro his father in law, the priest of
Madian: and he drove the flock to the inner parts of the desert, and
came to the mountain of God, Horeb.
2
And the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a
bush: and he saw that the bush was on fire and was not burnt.
3
And Moses said: I will go and see this great sight, why the bush is
not burnt.
4
And when the Lord saw that he went forward to see, he called to him
out of the midst of the bush, and said: Moses, Moses. And he
answered: Here I am.
5
And he said: Come not nigh hither, put off the shoes from thy feet:
for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.
6
And he said: I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God
of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. Moses hid his face: for he durst not
look at God.
7
And the Lord said to him: I have seen the affliction of my people in
Egypt, and I have heard their cry because of the rigour of them that
are over the works:
8
And knowing their sorrow, I am come down to deliver them out of the
hands of the Egyptians, and to bring them out of that land into a
good and spacious land, into a land that floweth with milk and honey,
to the places of the Chanaanite, and Hethite, and Amorrhite, and
Pherezite, and Hevite, and Jebusite.
13
Moses said to God: Lo, I shall go to the children of Israel, and say
to them: The God of your fathers hath sent me to you. If they should
say to me: What is his name? what shall I say to them?
14
God said to Moses: I AM WHO AM. He said: Thus shalt thou say to the
children of Israel: HE WHO IS, hath sent me to you.
15
And God said again to Moses: Thus shalt thou say to the children of
Israel: The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of
Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me to you: This is my name for
ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.
PSALM:
Psalms 103:
1 - 4, 6 - 8, 11
1
For David himself. Bless the Lord, O my soul: and let all that is
within me bless his holy name.
2
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and never forget all he hath done for
thee.
3
Who forgiveth all thy iniquities: who healeth all thy diseases.
4
Who redeemeth thy life from destruction: who crowneth thee with mercy
and compassion.
6
The Lord doth mercies, and judgment for all that suffer wrong.
7
He hath made his ways known to Moses: his wills to the children of
Israel.
8
The Lord is compassionate and merciful: longsuffering and plenteous
in mercy.
11
For according to the height of the heaven above the earth: he hath
strengthened his mercy towards them that fear him.

Corinthians 10: 1 - 6, 10 - 12
1
Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and
Sosthenes a brother,
2
To the church of God that is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified
in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that invoke the name
of our Lord Jesus Christ, in every place of theirs and ours.
3
Grace to you, and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus
Christ.
4
I give thanks to my God always for you, for the grace of God that is
given you in Christ Jesus,
5
That in all things you are made rich in him, in all utterance, and in
all knowledge;
6
As the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you,
10
Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no schisms among
you; but that you be perfect in the same mind, and in the same
judgment.
11
For it hath been signified unto me, my brethren, of you, by them that
are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.
12
Now this I say, that every one of you saith: I indeed am of Paul; and
I am of Apollo; and I am of Cephas; and I of Christ.
GOSPEL:
Luke 13:
1 - 9
1
And there were present, at that very time, some that told him of the
Galileans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.
2
And he answering, said to them: Think you that these Galileans were
sinners above all the men of Galilee, because they suffered such
things?
3
No, I say to you: but unless you shall do penance, you shall all
likewise perish.
4
Or those eighteen upon whom the tower fell in Siloe, and slew them:
think you, that they also were debtors above all the men that dwelt
in Jerusalem?
5
No, I say to you; but except you do penance, you shall all likewise
perish.
6
He spoke also this parable: A certain man had a fig tree planted in
his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it, and found none.
7
And he said to the dresser of the vineyard: Behold, for these three
years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and I find none. Cut it
done therefore: why cumbereth it the ground?
8
But he answering, said to him: Lord, let it alone this year also,
until I dig about it, and dung it.
9
And if happily it bear fruit: but if not, then after that thou shalt
cut it down.
