READING:
Revelation 14:
14 - 19
14
And I saw, and behold a white cloud; and upon the cloud one sitting
like to the Son of man, having on his head a crown of gold, and in
his hand a sharp sickle.
15
And another angel came out from the temple crying with a loud voice
to him that sat upon the cloud: Thrust in thy sickle, and reap,
because the hour is come to reap: for the harvest of the earth is
ripe.
16
And he that sat on the cloud thrust his sickle into the earth, and
the earth was reaped.
17
And another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also
having a sharp sickle.
18
And another angel came out from the altar, who had power over fire;
and he cried with a loud voice to him that had the sharp sickle,
saying: Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the
vineyard of the earth; because the grapes thereof are ripe.
19
And the angel thrust in his sharp sickle into the earth, and gathered
the vineyard of the earth, and cast it into the great press of the
wrath of God.
PSALM:
Psalms 96:
10 - 13
10
Say ye among the Gentiles, the Lord hath reigned. For he hath
corrected the world, which shall not be moved: he will judge the
people with justice.
11
Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad, let the sea be
moved, and the fulness thereof:
12
The fields and all things that are in them shall be joyful. Then
shall all the trees of the woods rejoice
13
Before the face of the Lord, because he cometh: because he cometh to
judge the earth. He shall judge the world with justice, and the
people with his truth.
GOSPEL:
Luke 21:
5 - 11
5
And some saying of the temple, that it was adorned with goodly stones
and gifts, he said:
6
These things which you see, the days will come in which there shall
not be left a stone upon a stone that shall not be thrown down.
7
And they asked him, saying: Master, when shall these things be? and
what shall be the sign when they shall begin to come to pass?
8
Who said: Take heed you be not seduced; for many will come in my
name, saying, I am he; and the time is at hand: go ye not therefore
after them.
9
And when you shall hear of wars and seditions, be not terrified:
these things must first come to pass; but the end is not yet
presently.
10
Then he said to them: Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom
against kingdom.
11
And there shall be great earthquakes in divers places, and
pestilences, and famines, and terrors from heaven; and there shall be
great signs.
